All Imperial products (Orangeberg, Armstrong,
Bluebell in house, Telecom) are joined by means of the
solvent cement jointing system. Liberal coats of PVC solvent
cement on the pipe and the socket of the fitting ensures
total leak-free joints. For the best results in pipe jointing,
use IMPERIAL PVC SOLVENT CEMENT. |

|
1. |
Cut pipe to its desired length squarely
and allow for make-up dimension (depth of the fitting
socket). Use a fine-toothed saw or pipe cutter in cutting. |
|
|
2. |
Remove all burns on the pipe end using a fine-grain
sandpaper or steel fine. |
|
|
3. |
With a clean rag, wipe out oil, dust or dirt on the
pipe end surface and also the socket of the fitting to
be joined. |
|
|
4. |
Using a clean brush, apply Imperial PVC Solvent Cement
liberally on the pipe and the socket of the fitting. |
|
|
5. |
Quickly push the pipe into the socket with a slight
twisting motion until it bottoms. Adjust alignment of
the fitting immediately before the solvent cement sets
up. |

IMPERIAL PVC SOLVENT CEMENT is especially formulated
to develop a thirty-minute or less setting time
at room temperature.
When the solvent cement applied on the pipe and the fitting
sets, it can withstand a 100 kilogram resistance in
pulling
out a joined 2 inch pipe and fitting.
IMPERIAL PVC SOLVENT CEMENT is produced in accordance
to the standards as defined in ASTM D2564-67. Available
in three convenient tin can packings of 100-cc, 200-cc
and 400-cc contents. |
